Goodyear Breaks Ground on New
Full Description:
Goodyear officials turned the first dirt today marking the beginning of construction of a 13,000-square-foot building that will house both the operations and administration staff for the water and wastewater divisions of the Water Resources Department. The staff is currently housed in several buildings including modular units. The new facility is expected to go vertical in three to four weeks and should be completed by mid-October 2007.
Water Resources Director Shawn Bradford opened the groundbreaking ceremony by commenting “that the new facility meets not only the needs of today, but the department’s needs for a very, very long time and includes additional training space that can be used by the whole city.” He went on to thank the Mayor and Council for being so supportive and giving his department the resources to meet the demands. He also remarked about how proud he is of the three-year-old Water Resources Department and what a cohesive working team they have become.
