"Resound the Alarm:" Estrella Mountain and Planned Parenthood Observe National Black AIDS Awarness Day, February 7

Planned Parenthood, in collaboration with Estrella Mountain Community College and Sistas of AZ, proudly presents "Resound the Alarm," an event focused on helping to prevent HIV/AIDS infection within the African American community. The free event will be held on Wednesday, February 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Estrella Mountain Community College campus.
In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the event will include a performance by BlackPoet Ventures. BlackPoet Ventures is a multimedia performance arts and entertainment company dedicated to promoting, supporting and enhancing the oral tradition artistry of poetry and spoken word movements of the African Diaspora. The group's performances will be an inspirational presentation of united voices speaking out about HIV/AIDS in order to spread knowledge so that others will spread change.
In addition to the performances, free rapid HIV testing will be provided by Planned Parenthood as well as a free lunch and interactive discussion regarding HIV/AIDS infection within the African American community.
